If your IPTV was working fine and suddenly stopped after an update (app update, Fire OS update, Android update, or router firmware update), here is what to check and how to fix it.
After an App Update
- Clear the app cache: Settings → Applications → your IPTV app → Clear Cache. Do NOT clear data (this deletes your login and settings).
- Re-add your playlist: Some updates reset the playlist configuration. Go to the app settings and re-enter your credentials.
- Downgrade the app: If the new version is buggy, uninstall it and sideload the previous APK version.
- Try a different app: If the update broke your primary app, use a different IPTV player temporarily. Your credentials work in any IPTV app.
After a Fire OS / Android Update
- Check Developer Options: System updates can reset Developer Options. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and make sure "Install Unknown Apps" is still enabled.
- App may have been disabled: Amazon sometimes disables sideloaded apps after Fire OS updates. Check if your app is still in the app list. If removed, reinstall it.
- Restart the device: A simple restart after an update can fix many issues.
- Check for app compatibility: Very old IPTV apps may not be compatible with the latest OS version. Update to the latest version of your IPTV app.
After a Router or ISP Change
- Check your internet connection: Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet and has internet access.
- DNS may have changed: Some router updates change DNS settings. Try using Google DNS (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) on your device or router.
- Firewall or parental controls: New router firmware may have enabled firewall rules or parental controls that block IPTV traffic.
- VPN may have disconnected: If you use a VPN, check that it is still connected after the update.
Quick Checklist
- Restart your streaming device
- Restart your router
- Clear app cache
- Check that Developer Options and Unknown Sources are still enabled
- Re-enter your IPTV credentials if needed
- Try a different IPTV app to isolate the issue
- Run a speed test to confirm internet is working
